Regenerate

Baptism and a Regenerate Church membership

1. What is regeneration? Is it the same as salvation?

Regeneration is the work wrought by the Holy Spirit in which He imparts a new spiritual life to us and we become a new creature.

Read Ezekiel 36:26-27

In the prophet’s words, who is doing the work? What will be different about those whom God acts upon?

Read John 1:11-13

What is the activity of those who became the children of God?  Who is doing the work again?

Read John 3: 1-8

From the story of Nicodemus, who are those who will see the kingdom? Who, again, does the work?

What do we know about the regenerate?

2 Cor 5:1-7, Eph 2:1

Four aspects of conversion leading to regeneration (or is it the other way around?)

John 16:8-11, Luke 23:40-43

2 Cor 7:10

Confession

I John 1:8-9

2. What is the purpose of a regenerate Church membership?  What does this assure about the local congregation?

I Cor 3: 1-9

Worldliness leads to jealousy and dissention.

I Cor 12:12-27

We are all part of one body; missing parts harm the whole body.

Acts 20:25-31

The regenerate are to be on guard for the wolves that will come
